Intelligent Car Leasing takes on arduous Arctic Trek for charity

Written by Charlie Strand

Intelligent Car Leasing team members have never shied away from tough challenges, especially when it comes to supporting charities.

In fact, Intelligent Car Leasing never shies away from supporting charitable causes, full stop.

But this looks a tough one: an Arctic Circle trek to raise charitable funds for the Celtic FC Foundation.

The Foundation is a charity that aids and assists the disadvantaged and vulnerable in society. It aims to fight poverty by enabling the marginalised to value employment, education and social inclusion as a way out of poverty.

Hoping to boost funds for this charity are commercial director David Blackmore and client development executive Tracy Flynn. The duo have previous history on charity fundraisers, having completed Maggie’s Monster Bike And Hike together – a 30 mile cross country cycle from Fort William to Fort Augustus, followed by a 43 mile hike to the finish line in Inverness. Phew!

No cycling this time, but very much a case of snow shoes on, plus extra, extra warm gear on (and then some more) as they trek for three days across the Arctic for a total of some 93 kms (58 miles) in conditions expected to be minus 20 degrees at times. Brrr…

There will be three days of trekking, each day pulling along their own pulk (a Norwegian sled carrying tent, food and belongings) and setting up camp each night. And some sore legs. Very sore legs…

But it will be worth it. Because charity wins.

“Charitable giving is very much central to the Intelligent Car Leasing ethos, which the whole team engages with, although on this occasion I’m rather glad it’s David and Tracy undertaking such a challenging event!” commented Chief Executive, Andy Bruce. “But we can all show our support for this stretching undertaking by supporting their efforts and donating to charity.”

If you would like to donate and support David and Tracy in their charitable efforts, head over to their Just Giving page.
