Ten Second Review
Fiat Panda Trekking Lease Review - With a 4x4 model in the range, the Fiat Panda Trekking seems only unnecessary, but this is far from the case. This model is both cheaper and more economical than its heftier, top-of-the-range brother, while still coming with all the kit you will need plus the Traction + package.

This fantastic system offers the driver much more control over his car, in three unique driving modes that do each feel different for the driver and passengers alike, and make this very flexible on all kinds of roads. However, you shouldn’t be fooled into thinking of this as an off-road model, it is still a 2 wheel drive and will get bogged down in anything over a dirt track, but the Traction+ does handle country roads and driveways better than you might expect of such a small car.

The diesel engine is still the pick of the three available with this model, as it offers that same urban/open road flexibility offered by the Trekking while being economical and fairly low to tax, only just pushing up into the C bracket. YOU also get an upgraded trip, with alloy wheels and a facelift making the cute exterior feel more ruggedly manly (although there is only so much you can do with a chic city hatch) while inside you benefit from great plastics and fabrics while the dash looks snazzy as ever. You get plenty of room and a high driving position up front, with £50 getting you a height adjustable seat, but in the back adults will struggle for comfortable legroom and the boot space is very small, although well designed to maximise what is not a lot of room to begin with.

This model comes equipped with plenty of extras, including Bluetooth, air-con, and an RDS/MP3 CD system with an upgraded stereo, but you will find yourself looking at the exhaustive option list for split/folding seats, climate control and more worryingly side airbags.

This range still only has 4 NCAP stars, which while secure doesn’t give that 5 Star feeling, and only comes with airbags up front while the Traction+ system works with the inbuilt measures to really improve the drive in tough conditions, you’ll have to go some to crash this car. In short, this is probably one of the best choices in the range, with plenty of flexibility and kit while not paying as much as for the 4x4, and a real difference in the driving experience.
